W271DR 102.1FM is now available. W271DR is a “non-attached” FM translator, meaning it is free to “date” (rebroadcast) any FM station. The asking price is well under two dollars per pop!

W271DR is currently licensed as a “non-fill in” translator for a non-commercial educational (NCE) FM station with 10 watts at 574 feet above ground level. At this power level, the translator covers over 146,000 people inside the 60dBu contour. The station can increase to approximately 150 watts on 102.1FM at the existing location. The tower is rented.

Fayetteville is Nielsen market #129. Fayetteville has a remarkably small number of signals for the size of the market, only 11 FM signals and 7 AM signals according to BIA. The market is part of the Raleigh-Durham television DMA. Since television comes out of Raleigh, TV takes a relatively small piece of the advertising pie. The rest of the broadcast advertising budget is split amongst only 18 signals. These factors combine to make Fayetteville an exceptional Radio market.

Fayetteville is the fourth-largest city in North Carolina and is the home of Fort Bragg, the nation’s largest military installation. Fort Bragg is headquarters to the US Army’s Special Operations Command and XVIII Airborne Corps.
